Topeka Farm Show 2026: equipment conversations alongside practical livestock learning
Kansas producers had a winter opportunity to connect machinery decisions with the wider demands of running a farm.
The Topeka Farm Show brought its 2026 program to the Stormont Vail Events Center on January 6–8. Its combination of agricultural exhibits and livestock education offers a useful way to think about a farm show: equipment belongs within an operation, alongside people, animals and the work calendar.
A regional meeting with a broad brief
The venue’s published program described 600 booths and free admission and parking. Those were features of the advertised show, not a post-show count of visitors or sales. Tradexpos positioned the gathering around farmers, ranchers and agricultural suppliers.
A regional event can make the supplier conversation more specific. A producer can bring questions about local service coverage, travel time for repairs and whether an implement will fit the equipment already on the farm.
Learning beyond the machinery displays
The 2026 program also included daily cattle demonstrations with Kansas State University’s Dr. Jason Warner and horsemanship clinics with Scott Daily. That pairing put animal management alongside the commercial exhibition.
For livestock operations, a machinery comparison is more useful when it begins with the task: moving feed, handling bedding or working around animals. A machine that looks capable on a stand still needs to suit the routes, clearances and routines of its intended workplace.
Turning a conversation into a specification
The practical follow-up is to record the job a proposed purchase must do, the equipment it must work with and the support the supplier can provide. A written compatibility check gives both sides a clearer starting point than a model name alone.
