RAPID + TCT returns to Huntington Place in Detroit in April 2027. The conference runs April 12–15, while the exhibition opens April 13 and closes April 15. The distinction matters when planning travel or deciding how much time to allocate to technical sessions.
An industrial additive-manufacturing gathering
SME’s event brings together industrial 3D-printing technologies, applications and technical education. AeroDef Manufacturing is scheduled as a co-located showcase, adding an aerospace and defense supplier focus to the Detroit program.
Follow the whole production route
The most useful machine comparison starts before the build and continues after it. File preparation, material handling, finishing and inspection can all affect whether a printed part makes sense for an operation.
Bring a representative application with its required volume, material and tolerance. Ask suppliers to explain the complete route from input to accepted part, including the work that happens away from the printer. Comparing that route can reveal differences that a display model alone cannot show.
