Manufacturing Technology Series SOUTHWEST is scheduled for November 2–4, 2027 at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas, Texas. SME’s calendar identifies HOUSTEX within the series, while the announced 2027 location is Dallas.

A regional manufacturing exhibition

Co-produced by SME and AMT, the series connects manufacturing decision-makers with equipment and tooling suppliers. The Southwest event’s scope spans production technologies such as machining, robotics, additive manufacturing and welding.

Look at the handoffs between operations

A productive visit can begin with the points where one operation hands work to another. Loading, inspection, data entry and movement between machines can influence the usefulness of a proposed equipment upgrade.

Ask suppliers to explain how their system would communicate with existing equipment and how exceptions would be handled. A demonstration is more informative when it includes a changeover or an interruption, rather than only a smooth cycle.

Who will be there in 2027

The event website still includes a 2025 report and established program descriptions. Confirmed 2027 exhibitor, speaker and sponsor names are not carried into this preview from those older materials.

As the new directory develops, shortlist companies by application and arrange meetings around a shared requirements brief. Attendance at an earlier Southwest show does not establish participation in Dallas.

Plan around the confirmed location

Use Dallas and the November 2–4 dates when keeping this event on the calendar. Confirm registration, daily opening hours and any additional education access directly with the organizer.

After each supplier discussion, note the information still needed for a decision: integration scope, service coverage, training and a realistic next evaluation step.
