Irrigation Show 2025: agricultural drip technology takes the spotlight
Netafim’s agriculture-category recognition offered a focused equipment story within the wider irrigation exhibition.
The 2025 Irrigation Show and Education Week took place in New Orleans on December 8–11, with the trade show on December 10–11. For agricultural readers, the clearest product story came from the New Product Contest and its attention to field irrigation.
Recognition for an agricultural application
The Irrigation Association’s competition featured 22 products across agriculture irrigation, landscape irrigation and landscape lighting. Orion PC by Netafim won the agriculture irrigation category.
The association described Orion PC as a thin-wall, pressure-compensated dripline, designed for seasonal and single-use growing applications. That is a manufacturer and award-program description of the product’s intended role, rather than an independent field-performance result.
What the recognition helps identify
An award can point buyers toward a product worth examining. It cannot establish whether that product is the right choice for every crop, field layout or operating arrangement.
For a grower, the follow-up conversation should start with the existing system and the conditions a replacement must accommodate. Ask the supplier which test data and installation guidance apply to the proposed use, and which assumptions sit behind the performance claims.
From exhibit to field decision
Compare the complete proposal, including filtration requirements, connections, installation support and the end-of-season plan. A useful specification makes those responsibilities visible before an order is placed.
The agricultural relevance of the New Orleans show lies in that move from product discovery to a documented application. Recognition is the beginning of the evaluation, while suitability has to be established for the farm itself.
