International Roofing Expo 2026: installation knowledge alongside new products
The Las Vegas event paired roofing and exterior products with education, supplier discussions and innovation awards.

Roofing products become part of a larger assembly. A membrane, coating or fastening choice has to work with the substrate, installation process and jobsite conditions. That makes practical education a useful companion to a product exhibition.
The scale of the gathering
IRE’s 2026 report records more than 15,000 industry professionals, 700 exhibiting companies and 132 expert-led sessions. The January 20–22 event took place at the Las Vegas Convention Center, with participants from 56 countries.
Learning that travels back to the job
In a comment published by the organizer, Clay McDonald of Action Roofing and Remodeling said his first visit delivered more knowledge and insight than he had expected.
For a contractor, the useful test is whether a lesson can be shared with the crew. A short installation checklist, a supplier clarification or a better inspection routine can make an educational session valuable well after the trip ends.
Understanding the customer’s conditions
Tietex International’s Jeff Carpenter emphasized the opportunity to discuss customers’ business conditions and maintain the company’s visibility as a polyester supplier.
That perspective matters because material decisions are also scheduling and supply decisions. Follow-up discussions should establish availability, technical assistance and how the proposed system fits the contractor’s typical projects.
Innovation with a practical filter
The Innovation Product Showcase & Awards received 37 entries and more than 1,200 votes. People’s Choice and Expert’s Choice awards recognized products across nine categories, including safety equipment, roofing membranes and business technology.
Those different categories should be evaluated differently. Software requires a workflow and adoption review, while a roof-system component requires a close look at application requirements and compatibility. A common award label does not make their performance claims directly comparable.
What to keep from the visit
The strongest post-show shortlist ties each product to a specific problem: improving installation consistency, reducing a recurring service issue or making a process easier to manage. Record the evidence still needed and the person responsible for obtaining it. That turns interest into a decision that the project team can review.
