The Kitchen & Bath Industry Show, known as KBIS, brings residential design and specification professionals together in Las Vegas. The 2027 edition is co-located with the NAHB International Builders’ Show as part of Design & Construction Week. That pairing allows a project team to investigate room-level choices alongside the wider construction brief.
Bring a room brief, not only a mood board
Before meeting suppliers, list the room dimensions, intended users, storage requirements, installation sequence and budget range. A finish or feature becomes easier to assess when it is discussed alongside the space and the people who will use it.
Ask for model-specific dimensions, sample availability, installation documents and current supply information. Record the exact product reference and finish so a later conversation with the installer or client starts from the same specification.
Compare the practical details behind a display
Use cabinet, fixture and appliance discussions to identify dependencies that could affect a project. Ask about service access, compatible components, installer requirements and the party responsible for support. Verify answers against the product documentation before final selection.
When several suppliers contribute to one room, write down the interfaces that need coordination. A useful show visit should expose those questions early, while alternatives can still be considered, rather than leaving them to the installation stage.
Plan KBIS and IBS as a coordinated visit
KBIS lists show-floor hours of 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on February 2–4. Its attendee information states that KBIS registration provides access to the two co-located shows. Conference sessions and special events have their own access conditions, so review the chosen package before finalizing the agenda.
Assign time to the kitchen and bath suppliers that matter most, then use the wider builders’ show for related project questions. The International Surface Event also has overlapping exhibition dates but takes place at Mandalay Bay Convention Center; allow for a separate venue and registration check if combining visits.
Turn discoveries into a specification review
Create a shared record for each shortlisted product: reference, finish, dimensions, requested documents, supply contact and open installation questions. Ask the project team to identify which choices can progress and which need a sample or technical response.
Keep visual inspiration and confirmed specifications distinct in that record. A display shows how a product can be presented; the project still needs its own checks on fit, coordination and suitability.
